THE LIFE OF THOMAS REDMOND

Thomas Redmond is a 35 year old man living in Athy county kildare. Thomas is married to Evelyn and they have three children, Kate, Peter and Ted. Thomas was brought up in a republician household, and his parents had to move for employment to the uk in 1987.

Thomas was brought home to attend secondary school in CBS Athy where he was a noted as a skilled Rugby player and sportsman who believed in being a team player. With Secondary school ending Thomas decided to study Psychiatric Nursing in the Uk, in the same Irish community that he had lived as a child.

 

After a return to Ireland and with the starting of a family , Thomas found work in a Dublin hospital and is currently over 8 years there. ( On a career break sept 2014)

While becoming involved  politics in the late 1990's, Thomas saw the many problems that goverments were not addressing fairly or properly. He then vowed to get involved in politics and make an active change.

 

Thomas Redmond is one of 3 children, the oldest. His siblings have had to travel for employment to Germany and many others of his extended family to usa or uk. Thomas has a very keen Interest in local matters and the affects goverment are having on those famlies. 

 

"Ireland has changed over the last number of years with a generation of my friends lost to emigration for work. Its is just not fair that those that gamble and squandered the futures of so many are protected or left untouched. Sinn Fein is a voice certainly in south kildare for famlies such as mine that will not accept the answers from politicians living in a different orbit"

" I put my name to the people of Athy over 4 years ago for election and i was elected. This time i asked again that they look at my reputation in this community for working for the people and asking the hard questions. I am not someone who is a career politician. I dont rely on politics for my livelyhood but i do hunger for the change , and fairness, I see people hurting around me and see officials making decisions that are only concerned with monetry solutions not social. I have been given a chance to prove myself to the people and i vow to do my best untill i can do no more.

 

I will finish by adding that the party working on the ground in South Kildare is Sinn Fein. I am working with my Td's Councillors and cumman members to highlite that the repubician politics of Sinn Fein is the only credable answer.
