20.       ‘That Athy Town Council calls on Kildare County Council to open the Civic Amenity Centre at Gallowshill from Monday to Wednesday as well as its current opening and promote the benefits of the centre at every opportunity.’

10. Cllr. Thomas Redmond‘That Athy Town Council, in association with all relevant bodies, hold a forum to discuss how to make independent living in Athy more inclusive’

11 ‘That the Athy Town Council does everything in its power to facilitate the cashstrapped Heritage Centre- Museum in Athy, which is now synonymous with the Ernest Shackleton. We as a Council need to offer an undertaking that we will not allow this community facility close’.

12. ‘That Athy Town Council start official talks with the High Commissioner of South Georgia, with a view to initiating a twinning agreement to facilitate cultural exchanges. This area holds special interest for our town, as it is the burial place of Ernest Shackleton and a world UNESCO heritage site’

14.       ‘That provision be made for the regrading of the walkway over the Horse Bridge and marina bridge immediately, as it is now nearly impassable to wheelchairs and children’s buggies’.

 

‘That Athy Town Council thank the Athy Fire Service for their great work this Halloween and we invite them to make submissions to this Council as to how we can improve safety next year’.
