11 ‘That the Athy Town Council does everything in its power to facilitate the cashstrapped Heritage Centre- Museum in Athy, which is now synonymous with the Ernest Shackleton. We as a Council need to offer an undertaking that we will not allow this community facility close’.

This area holds special interest for our town, as it is the burial place of Ernest Shackleton and a world UNESCO heritage site’
