‘That this Council requests Iarnród Eireann to provide an additional evening service to Dublin and to maintain their current fare structure, without additional increases’. 

 

2.    ‘That this Council implement a landscaping programme for the Clonmullion estate and this be extended to other estates within our remit’.

 

3.     ‘That this Council seek funding from Kildare County Council and the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, for a feasibility study into the harnessing of hydroelectric power along the River Barrow and produce electricity for public lighting along the river walkway’.

1.That the Town Council calls on the Minister for the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht to undertake a review of the status of White Castle to implement appropriate measures to maintain and preserve the structure, in accordance with relevant legislation

2.That the Town Council facilitate a meeting with local soccer clubs (Bridge United and Woodstock Celts) to assist both clubs develop sporting facilities in the town’.

3. That the Town Council call on the Director of Services (Library Services) to facilitate a meeting with the 'Save Athy Library Group’ to be held in the offices of Athy Town Council’.

16.       ‘That Athy would seek to become one of Ireland’s first Town Councils to develop a concise health town policy (with appropriate stakeholders), encompassing health, dietary, mental health and a holistic view to help citizens live a healthier life’.

12.       That Athy would seek to become one of Ireland’s first Town Councils to

‘That the Town Manager provides Members with a report regarding reserved powers gained/ lost within the past 12 months’ – Deferred from June Meeting.

 

6.         ‘That the Members be advised regarding all the circumstances relating to the decision of the Council not to purchase The White Castle and that they be further advised regarding the decision making process’.

 

7          ‘Following assurances from Kildare County Council on two separate occasions, can this Council immediately call for pathways that were promised on the Carlow Road from Coneyboro to Ardreigh and also from Shanrath to the town be completed as a matter of safety. This issue has been ongoing for many years’.

 

8          ‘That this Council, possibly in conjunction with the JPC and other relevant organisations, hold or support an information night for members of the public finding it hard to cope financially’.

‘That this Council supports the equal access to civil marriage for all citizens of Athy regardless of race, religion or sexuality’.

 

9.         ‘That this Council correspond with Waterways Ireland and the relevant groups who have a remit for the upkeep of the Grand Canal to seek environmental improvement works for the areas between the Stradbally and Kilkenny Roads’.

 

10.       ‘That the Town Manager provides members with a report regarding reserved powers gained/ lost within the past 12 months’.

‘That this Council calls on the HSE and local medical practitioners to highlight the benefits of prostate screening for men within risk categories’.
